Bursary Applications

NAATSIHWP is offering reimbursement of travel, accommodation and/or registration fee for eligible FULL and STUDENT NAATSIHWP members based on where they live. The model used to assess eligibility in the first and second rounds and the amount to be received is based on the Modified Monash Model.

Bursary Round 1

  • Bursary Round 1 Open (Non-Victorian regional and metropolitan only) opens 18 May 2026

  • Bursary Round 1 Closes 13 June 2026

  • Deadline for sending Receipts, Tax Invoices and Bank Details 13 July 2026

Bursary Round 2

  • Bursary Round 2 Open (Focus on Victorian regional and metropolitan areas) opens 31 July 2026

  • Bursary Round 2 Closes 12 August 2026

  • Deadline for sending Receipts, Tax Invoices and Bank Details 12 September 2026


Eligibility Requirements

1. You must be a NAATSIHWP FULL or STUDENT member at the time of application. Contact our membership team at membership@naatsihwp.org.au to confirm your membership.

2. Check the Health Workforce Locator to find out what level of bursary you can apply for. You can also visit the website to learn more about the Modified Monash Model or write to eso@naatsihwp.org.au.

3. We strongly encourage applicants to obtain support from their employer to attend the conference.

4. Send your EOIs to eso@naatsihwp.org.au with email subject line, ‘EOI NAATSIHWP Conference Bursary’ with the editable EOI PDF on the last page of the T&Cs, which should contain the following:

  • A personal statement in 250 words, on your reasons for wanting to attend the 2026 Conference and how the bursary will assist you in attending the NAATSIHWP Conference

  • NAATSIHWP membership application or confirmation of Full or Student membership

5. Upon receipt of a successful EOI outcome, the following documents and information must be sent to eso@naatsihwp.org.au within 7 days (see Key Dates), failure to do so may result in loss of bursary grant:

  • All registration and travel-related invoice or receipts (flights, accommodation, parking etc)

  • Name of organisation or individual to be reimbursed

  • ABN (for organisations)

  • Address

  • Email Address

  • Contact Number

  • Bank Details: Account Name, BSB and Account Number


What types of support are available?

The support available to people who receive a bursary includes:

TIER 1 This includes:

- $1,500 for members from Rural and Remote areas MMM 4-7.

TIER 2 This includes:

- $750 for members from Metropolitan and Regional areas MMM 1-3.

TIER 3 This includes:

- Reimbursement of registration fee for members within the Greater Melbourne, Geelong, the Mornington Peninsula and the Dandenong Ranges.

Important Note regarding GST: All bursary amounts are exclusive of GST. Where a compliant tax invoice is provided, NAATSIHWP is able to claim the GST component. This means that a Tier 1 bursary of $1500 (ex GST) becomes $1650 including GST) and a Tier Bursary of $750 (ex GST) becomes $825 (incl GST).


Successful Bursary Recipients are expected to:

  • Purchase the reimbursable item and submit a tax receipt before the nominated deadline for submitting tax receipts

  • Behave in a way that upholds the NAATSIHWP values, as well as their respective employer’s or organisation policies governing appropriate workplace behaviour, and all applicable laws

  • Agree to inform NAATSIHWP as soon as possible in writing by email to eso@naatsihwp.org.auif they wish to withdraw or cancel the bursary offer and facilitate the return of funds within 72 hours of notifying

  • Agree to participate in a post-conference survey evaluation


Registration and Travel Arrangements:

Registration and all travel-related bookings such as flights, transfers, accommodation, etc. are the responsibility of the applicant.
